CLI

The shipped executable is:

webmcp

The current implemented flow is explicit and handle-based:

webmcp pages
webmcp tools <page_id>
webmcp call <page_id> <tool_ref> --args '{"key":"value"}'

JSON is the default output. A tool call can also read its JSON object from stdin:

printf '%s' '{"key":"value"}' | webmcp call <page_id> <tool_ref> --stdin

pages returns only live WebMCP-capable pages. tools requires the explicit opaque page handle returned by pages, and call requires both that page handle and an opaque tool handle returned by tools. Navigation invalidates the old page handle rather than silently retargeting another document.

Healthy browser connectivity with no exposed pages is a successful empty result. No connected browser is a nonzero structured error. CLI diagnostics remain JSON on stdout; browser-host diagnostics use stderr so Native Messaging stdout stays protocol-only.

The project remains pre-release. Setup, doctor, human-formatted output, MCP, and public browser installation are not part of this current command surface yet.
